Abonten GH ("we", "our", "us") operates a nightlife and event discovery platform serving Ghana. This Policy applies to information we collect through the web app, mobile app and related services.
- Account data — email, display name and authentication tokens from providers you choose (e.g. Google).
- Event submissions — titles, descriptions, venues, dates and flyer images you upload.
- Engagement signals — RSVPs, saves, follows and check-ins used to personalize discovery.
- Device & usage — basic page views and device type to operate and improve the service.
- To power the event discovery experience and personalize what's nearby.
- To moderate event submissions before they appear publicly.
- To keep your session signed in and to secure the service.
- To communicate important updates about the service.
We use your interests, area preferences, RSVPs and saves to suggest events you may enjoy. You can disable personalization from your profile settings; in that case we will show generic discovery rails instead.
Location is only requested when you tap "Use my location" or enable location sharing in your profile. We use it on your device to show nearby events and walking/driving distances.
Precise coordinates are not stored on our servers unless you explicitly opt in to location sharing for distance-based features.
You can sign up using email or supported social providers. We store the minimum profile information needed to operate your account.
We may send service notifications (event approvals, RSVPs, invites). You can control notification preferences in your profile. We do not sell your contact information for marketing.
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time, after which we will remove personal data within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Access and review the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your account and submitted content.
- Revoke location permission from your browser or device settings.
- Disable personalization or opt out of recommendation signals.
Security
We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to minimize risk and respond promptly to incidents.
Our hosting and service providers may process data outside Ghana. Where this occurs, we rely on contractual protections to ensure your data remains appropriately safeguarded.
Abonten GH is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
